2 more lifers...

Last Friday I went to the Duvenstedter Brook again and got 2 more lifers: A male Common Redstart and 5 Stock Pigeons. Both made me very happy, but so did also the 4 Yellowhammers, 3 Cranes, 3 Stonechats, 3 Goldeneyes, 2 Middle Spotted WPs (from now on I’ll call them MSWP), 1 Gadwall, 1 Grey Wagtail. Other animals were 5 Roes, 4 Ringed Snakes and 2 Viviparous lizards…
The Duvenstedter Brook never gets boring!

A sunny day...

...in the Wedeler Marsch again. Apart from the Cattle Egret there were also some other very cool birds. My personal favourite was the singing male Bluethroat, but I also liked the Yellow Wagtail, the Ruff, the Snipe, the Shovelers, Garganeys and the Avocets, just to name a few of the coolest...

Ringed Snakes

Today I saw Ringed Snakes for the second time this year. Both times I found them in a humid patch in a forest. They were quite approachable so I got some pictures...

Cattle Egret!!!

Last saturday I got to see another rare vagrant in the Wedeler Marsch. Last time there was already the Red-breasted Goose I couldn't take a picture of. But this time I got many pics and the thing I liked most, was that it was me, who discovered it, as it stood suddenly in the scope and I immediately knew I was seeing a damn rare bird. Last year there were two birds found in Germany, the years before always around 4. YEEAAHH

Stoat day

When I went to the Wedeler Marsch last time on 26th March I was surprised by a lifer. Not a bird but two different Stoats, one already changing into the summer dress, another one still in its winter fur.
They were quite curious and we watched each other for a few minutes and I could take some pictures being just 3m or so from it, separated only by a small drainage channel.
These pictures are the result:
